Simple Homemade Garlic & Herb Flaxseed Crackers

Snacking on your ketogenic diet will never be the same after this recipe. These flaxseed crackers are easy to make, have simple ingredients, and are perfect for dipping. Satisfy that desire for a crunchy snack with only 5 simple ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole flaxseeds
  • 1/4 cup water or egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder or 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Add whole flaxseed, egg whites, garlic, and seasoning to a large bowl.  Stir well until ingredients are well combined.  Cover with plastic wrap and let soak for 2-3 hours or overnight.
  2. When you are ready to make your crackers, preheat the oven to 300° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Pour mixture onto baking pan and flatten to a thin, single ⅛” thick layer using a spatula.  You can also add another piece of parchment paper over the mixture and use a rolling pin to flatten.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes and rotate the pan 180°, then bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until edges are slightly browned and the center is firm to the touch.  Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.  Break into small pieces and enjoy with your favorite dips and spreads.
