Refreshing Keto Peach Tea

Jump to recipe

Most coffee shops don’t carry high-quality keto-friendly drinks.

Of course, you have your standard tea drinks, iced coffees, and high-sugar pink drinks. But adding pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup or other sugar-free syrups to your iced tea won’t cut it on a healthy, sustainable keto diet.

Forget the “five pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup” in your “peach citrus white tea infusion” and instead opt for this refreshing sugar-free keto peach tea.

You won’t find anything like this low-carb, keto-friendly iced tea at Starbucks.

3 Health Benefits of Keto Peach Tea

#1: Supports Weight Loss

Many people don’t realize that oolong tea is just partially oxidized green tea. And just like green tea, oolong has a whole host of nutrients and health benefits in its leaves.

One of the more well-known benefits of oolong tea is its potential role in weight management. Proof is mostly anecdotal, but many use oolong to help control hunger and drop pounds.

Although human trials are still needed, animal research supports the claim that oolong tea can assist in weight management and support weight loss.

In a mouse model, scientists assessed the anti-obesity effect of oolong tea by administering it to mice fed a high-fat diet. The oolong tea prevented both obesity and fatty liver in the tea-fed mice, as compared to the control group that had no oolong.

The researchers suggested that it was partly the caffeine that enhanced fat breakdown in the mice, although there are other compounds in the tea that might help. Their research suggests that oolong could be an effective therapy for obesity and fatty liver[*].

#2: Antioxidant Boost

Along with weight loss, other benefits of oolong tea involve its high antioxidant content. But oolong isn’t the only antioxidant powerhouse in this recipe.

Vanilla extract also contains a variety of compounds that have antioxidant-like effects[*].

One compound, in particular, vanillin, has been studied for its ability to combat oxidation in mammalian cells. Vanillin may protect your body by preventing oxidative damage to your tissue membranes[*]. That goes for tumor formation, too. Vanillin may be able to inhibit free radicals and consequent tumor progression, acting as an anti-tumor agent[*].

#3: Curbs Appetite

Caffeine is an excellent way to curb cravings. Yet another reason why a cup of tea is a good idea — especially if you’re not in ketosis yet and still experiencing cravings.

This keto peach tea is especially effective for busting cravings for a couple of reasons. For one, it’s sugar-free. Sugar will send your blood sugar on a rollercoaster of highs and lows that will leave you exhausted and craving more carbs.

It also contains a serving of exogenous ketones, which boost your blood ketones. And more blood ketones mean more energy without the crash.

Consuming exogenous ketones not only enhances your state of ketosis, but it can lower your levels of ghrelin, your hunger hormone. With less ghrelin stimulation and more blood ketones, you can expect a diminished desire to eat and lower perceived hunger[*].

What makes this tea so keto-diet friendly?

To begin, you’re not just throwing in a splash of heavy cream. This peach tea is more like a peach latte – rich and creamy. You can also forget the liquid cane sugar most coffee shops call an iced tea; this beverage is entirely sans sugar.

But the real jewel of this recipe is the peach flavored exogenous ketones. Refreshing iced tea plus ketones packed into one delicious beverage? A keto dieter’s dream.
