Ketologic is a keto brand with reach. You may have seen them in chain stores like Wal-Mart, CVS, or GNC.
But going mainstream doesn’t necessarily mean a product line is founded on sound principles. After all, even Slimfast has rebranded to ride the keto diet craze.
Keep reading to learn more about Ketologic, product details, nutrition facts, ingredients, and how they stack up versus Perfect Keto.
What Is Ketologic?
Ketologic is a ketogenic lifestyle and product company founded by businessman Mike McCandless and run by CEO Mike Hockenberry.
The founder of Ketologic has a history in the supplement business, and also founded the bodybuilding supplement companies Scivation and PrimaForce.
Their current product line includes meal replacement products, keto foods, and supplements for weight loss or achieving a state of ketosis.
In part, Ketologic appears to use a business model similar to Slimfast.
They urge people who want to lose weight to substitute their meal replacement products in for some meals, while eating a high-fat, low-carb diet at other times.
Ketologic encourages people to use standard keto macros of 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs.
The company also offers diet programs, meal plans, and advice.

(Note: Nutrition facts are similar, but not identical, for different flavors of Ketologic products.)
The positive aspects of Ketologic’s nutrition facts are that they are relatively low in carbs and high in healthy fats.
The downsides are that Ketologic products are low in protein, and may include excessive, unnecessary amounts of synthetic vitamins and minerals.

Here’s a breakdown of the ingredients in Ketologic’s meal replacement lineup, food products, and supplements.

FB24 Fat Loss Supplement: DygloFit (Dichrostachys glomerata fruit extract) 200 mg standardized to 10% polyphenols, Cellulose, Rice Flour, Water
Keto Coffee Creamer (French Vanilla): Coconut Oil, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Nonfat Dry Milk, Sodium Caseinate, Natural Flavors, Tricalcium Phosphate, Disodium Phosphate, Silicone Dioxide, and Steviol Glycosides (Stevia rebaudiana)
Keto Snack Bars (Chocolate Hazelnut Flavor): Hazelnuts, Soluble Corn Fiber, Whey Protein Isolate, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Nibs, Coconut, Glycerine, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa Powder, Sunflower Lecithin, Inulin, Erythritol, Natural Flavor, Sea Salt, Vanilla Extract, Steviol Glycosides (Stevia Extract), Monk Fruit Extract.
A couple of things stand out as favorable about Ketologic’s ingredients.
They include some real, whole foods (like hazelnuts) in products, and they also use keto-friendly sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol.
But on the other hand, the ingredients in Ketologic products aren’t perfect.
Some products contain lots of non-whole-food ingredients that really aren’t necessary for a healthy keto diet.
The number of ingredients in the KetoMeal Meal Replacement product, for instance, is a red flag.
Unnecessary additions include fillers like soluble corn fiber, as well as synthetic vitamins and minerals that absorb poorly and may even be harmful[*]. The products contain a high number of preservatives, too.
Ketologic’s FB24 product is purported to be a fat loss supplement, and the active ingredient is DygloFit, a standardized extract of Dichrostachys glomerata.
Dichrostachys glomerata is a plant from Africa that is also used as a spice in Cameroon[*]. Another name for it is the sickle bush.
Ketologic claims that FB24 supports weight loss and healthy blood sugar levels, but the evidence behind DygloFit for weight loss is weak.
Although a 2013 study showed promising results, a 2020 study published in the Journal of Dietary Supplements found that 300 milligrams per day of Dichrostachys extract produced “clinically insignificant” weight loss results in subjects[*][*].
Perfect Keto vs. Ketologic
Ketologic appears to cater to a mainstream audience who primarily cares about weight loss and convenience.
In contrast, Perfect Keto’s mission is to promote the keto lifestyle, which includes weight loss, but also a holistic and sustainable approach to overall health.
That’s why Perfect Keto products don’t contain fillers, excessive amounts of preservatives, or other unnecessary additives, like synthetic vitamins and minerals.
Here’s a comparison of Perfect Keto Bars to Ketologic Snack Bars:
As you can see, Perfect Keto Bars offer fewer net carbs, more healthy fats, double the amount of protein, and healthier ingredients compared to Ketologic bars.
Perfect Keto Bars also contain grass-fed keto collagen protein, while Ketologic Snack Bars don’t.
The Takeaway
It’s a big keto world out there, and there’s room for competing brands with different philosophies.
Some ketogenic diet brands are geared towards mainstream marketing and weight loss, while others also focus on the needs of people who care about their overall health, not just weight loss.
Ketologic offers some reliable keto staple products like beta-hydroxybutyrate and MCT oil, but falls short of providing high-quality meal replacement products or keto foods that support athletes.
Perfect Keto products are designed to support the health benefits of keto, based on the philosophy that natural, whole foods are healthiest, and ingredients lists shouldn’t be overly long or full of fillers and preservatives.
