3 Health Benefits of Salted Caramel Whipped Cream

#1: Protects Your Brain

Ketones are the compounds that your body makes in the absence of glucose as fuel. You can also get powdered ketones, aka exogenous ketones.

And ketones aren’t just great for energy and supporting fat loss. They also help protect your brain. Under conditions of oxidative stress, ketones have been found to protect the cells in your brain from oxidation[*].

In one study, when patients with Alzheimer’s disease were given MCTs (which turn into ketones in your body), they showed significant improvement in memory and recall[*].

#2: Boosts Physical Performance

The use of ketones is still new, and many studies are underway to determine how exogenous ketones work in your body. Many people report enhanced endurance when taking ketones, and animal research supports the claim that ketones can boost physical performance.

In one study, researchers gave rats exogenous ketones and then had them run through a maze. The rats that were fed ketones not only made it through the maze faster, but they also made fewer mistakes while finding their way to the end[*].

#3: Blood Sugar Balancing

Unlike most whipped creams out there that are loaded with sugar, this whipped cream is high fat and sugar-free. Why does this matter?

Fat alone won’t stimulate your body to secrete insulin the way carbohydrates will.

So, by choosing foods that are high in healthy fats and low-carb you can support balanced blood sugar and lower insulin levels as well[*].

Salted Caramel Whipped Cream

This whipped cream tastes terrific on top of some keto cheesecake, pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.

Or if you’re really feeling it just add some chocolate chips, and you’ve got a light and fluffy whipped cream dessert.

All you need is five minutes and a few key ingredients.

Pull out your electric mixer and whisk attachment and have them ready to go.

Open your refrigerator and grab your heavy cream. Pour your cream into a mixing bowl, and whip on high speed until your mixture begins to thicken slightly. You may notice some soft peaks forming. This should take about one minute.

Once your mixture begins to thicken, add in your Perfect Keto Caramel Exogenous Ketone Base and sugar-free caramel syrup. Whip on high again, until the cream mixture is light and fluffy, at this point stiff peaks may form.

If you would like to add in a small pinch of salt or addition sweetener like monk fruit or stevia you can slowly stir them in at this point.

Just make sure not to over-whip your cream. You’ll know it’s getting close when the peaks no longer form and the mixture starts turning too stiff.

This salted caramel whipped cream can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for later.
