One of the best parts of learning to prepare foods on the keto diet is the keto desserts. If you thought eating low-carb meant no more ice cream, brownies, cookies, or cake — think again.

In fact, it seems like there’s a sugar-free recipe for pretty much every dessert out there.

But fat bombs take the concept of no-sugar desserts to the next level. These aren’t just treats for once in a while; fat bombs are the type of snack you want to have on hand all the time.

Whatever dessert you may be craving, there’s a fat bomb recipe out there. And yes, birthday cake included. These sweet treats are a combination of cheesecake fat bombs and your classic birthday cake.

So prepare, share, and enjoy.

Health Benefits of These Birthday Cake Fat Bombs

In most cases, birthday cake is synonymous with sugar and processed flour — which is probably why you only indulge in it once a year. But with these birthday cake flavored fat bombs, you can celebrate as often as you like.

Rich In Healthy Fats

With a combination of cream cheese, butter, nut butter, and almond flour, these little fat bombs are packed full of fats. And the key here is that you’re not just getting one type of fat, but a variety of healthy fats that can fuel your body right down to the cellular level.

Almonds are a rich source of monounsaturated omega-9 fats, while butter and cream cheese come packed with CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)[*][*]

And if you’re not familiar — CLA is associated with a number of health benefits including antioxidant and anti-cancer[*].

Increases Satiety

Fat bombs are a fantastic snack for people following a ketogenic diet. They take the guesswork out of trying to find a keto-friendly option when you’re on the go, and because of the macronutrient profile (8 grams of fat each for these guys), you know you’ll be satisfied.

Research actually shows that when you consume fat, it can increase your satiety and reduce the amount of food you eat. So it’s not just that rich mouthfeel that curbs your cravings — biologically, your body is getting the message that you’re taken care of for a while[*].

And the best part; you know these sweet snacks won’t kick you out of ketosis.

Birthday Cake Fat Bombs

There’s something about a slice of birthday cake with sprinkles and frosting that makes you feel like a kid again. Sure, you could say the same for cupcakes or chocolate chip cookies — but birthday cake really does provide something special.

This keto fat bomb recipe is like taking your favorite birthday cake batter and combining it with some delicious cream cheese frosting.

To begin, gather your ingredients and take out a large bowl or stand mixer.

Add your cream cheese, butter, nut butter, vanilla extract, butter extract, monk fruit (or erythritol or swerve), almond flour, and coconut flour to your bowl and mix until all ingredients are well combined. Mix on high until light and fluffy.

Next, chop up your Perfect Keto Birthday Cake Bar into small pieces and stir into the mixture.

Finally, using a small cookie scoop, divide and portion out the dough. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Add keto sprinkles to the tops of the dough balls, and refrigerate for one to two hours, or until firm.

These fat bombs can be taken out to room temperature, but they’re best eaten right out of the refrigerator.

Recipe notes:

If you don’t have any butter on hand, you can switch it out for some coconut oil. And the same goes for monk fruit — stevia will work just as well as an alternative.

The Perfect Keto Nut Butter is creamy and smooth with a combination of macadamia nuts, cashews, and coconut butter. However, if you don’t have any PK nut butter handy, you can replace it with almond butter for a similar texture.
